Firm survey
The Swiss Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (SFUVET) and the University of Bern are conducting a study as part of the National Research Programme 80, funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation, to investigate the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on vocational education and training in Switzerland (COVET study). The aim of the research project is therefore to investigate at what different levels and in what way the Covid-19 pandemic has influenced vocational education and training.
One focus of the COVET research project relates to the analysis of differences between occupational fields and regions with regard to the training process of VET learners in different apprenticeships. In order to investigate possible changes in the training process, we surveyed more than 4,000 training companies in German-speaking and French-speaking Switzerland in spring 2024.
With the findings from the survey of training companies, the COVET research project is making an important contribution to systematically recording and evaluating experiences and any adjustments to training processes in companies and making the results accessible to practitioners. This strengthens vocational education and training and provides knowledge for overcoming future crises. The response rate of the firm survey is 42%.
